Clerk/Treasurer – Village of Whitelaw
The Village of Whitelaw (pop. 740), Manitowoc County, is seeking a career-orientated individual to work as Clerk/Treasurer. This position is the primary contact at the Village Office and performs but is not limited to routine clerical duties, customer service, election administration, data processing in accounts payable, receivable, and utility billing, licensing/permitting, property tax preparation and collecting, record retention. This position primarily works independently; therefore, a motivated self-starter is a must. Excellent communication and organizational skills, and numerical proficiency are essential. Candidates with a strong accounting background are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of Workhorse Software is beneficial and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. This position is 32 to 40 hours a week with some evening hours for night meetings. Once hired, the applicant must be able to be bonded and insured. Starting wage will be $24.00 to $26.00 per hour based on experience. Benefits will include participation in the State Retirement System, insurance available or a stipend in lieu of insurance, vacation, and sick leave. Candidates with no prior municipal experience will be required to attend a one-week on-line municipal government course held by UW-Green Bay Clerk/Treasurer Institute.
